cvchronosimgTo obtain a job the first step:

You have to be called for interview.

There are two ways to make this happen.

First: you have such a good reputation in your profession that the employers will contact you with their offers, or if you apply, the rest is just a formality. Our “How to use social media platforms” article series will deal with this aspect.

The other possibility is our topic now: create a good resume that reflects who you are, what you can do, and especially what will your employer gain if you will be the chosen one!

The main characteristic of a perfect resume is that there is no universal version which is always ready to send immediately. Every single job deserves a unique CV!

Why? Here's the answer!

Each company has certain factors which are very important for them, and they are primarily looking for a person, who covers most of these factors. These can be: professional knowledge, human attributes , a skill or qualification, or a statement of your targets which shows the company how they will benefit from you.

Here are some examples:

  • An advertising company looking for a creative graphic artist will not choose you if your CV is a pure document of three typewritten pages, without any kind of visual experience which would show your professional skills and creative side.

  • On the other hand, for a computer informatics type position the simple fact description can be suitable (note the specifics of the position in order as well), but if you write that you love photography and can do anything with Photoshop, in addition your dream is to be a world-famous photographer, then you will have little chance to get the job. In this case, the content is inappropriate, not made for the target audience.

The above mentioned thoughts show why it is important to prepare a professional resume both in content and appearance. You should always consider the employers prospective about yourself alongside what they expect to win with you. This is the point when a custom resume meets self-marketing.

After a bit of practice it is not a difficult task, and we will assist you step-by step, and we will also provide ideas for implementation in the following sections of our article series. In the meantime, a safe and an important base of operation: write down everything about yourself professionally or any other aspect which is important because these are the core of your new and improved CV!

The sequel comes soon, in the meantime any questions on this topic are warmly welcomed!
